Happy Birthday Daddy!

I'm Daddy's girl.. I've said this before...

Dancing on Daddy's Big Feet

The music is soft,

And the music is sweet -

twirling and dancing

on Daddy's big feet.

I slip off my shoes

and step up onto his.

When his feet turn us around,

nothing's better than this.

My arm stretches up

high as can be

To reach for his shoulder -

his arm reaches 'round me.

And the music is soft,

the music is sweet -

twirling and dancing

on Daddy's big feet.

His slippery black shoes

shined by my stocking feet

glide us 'cross the room

on the music's safe beat.

He tells me someday

another boy will come

to hold me this way

then his job will be done.

But life is never as secure

and the music as sweet -

waltzin' 'cross the room

on Daddy's big feet.

Happy Birthday daddy Anndi...

You share the day with a special lady... my mom....

I saw your post about your dad. I am a New York Times bestselling author working on a new book about father-daughter relationships and thought you might want to contribute. Please visit my page for details about submitting stories for Daddy's Little Girl.

Happy Birthday to your daddy - mine's is at the end of the month.

LOVE the poem.

Blogger Matt-Man said ... (11:40 AM) :

Happy Birthday Sir. Other than Anndi's utter disregard for people's feelings, you did a fine job. Cheers!!

Blogger Anndi said ... (1:15 PM) :

Two wonderful people your Mom and my dad!

Mr. Lang

Thank you for the invitation.

Thanks sweetie. I came across that poem a little while ago and kept it for the right occasion. Seemed like the time.

I get many of my qualities from my dad. I'll pass along your warm wishes and then I'll go out and feed the squirrels.

Anndi, your dad looks so much happier next to your mom. ; ) Cheers!!

That's because she was grabbing his tush. I hear men of Irish descent are particularly fond of that.

Wonderful tribute to what a real father is.

Happy Birthday Ann's Daddy!

Blogger Anndi said ... (3:26 PM) :

One of my favourite things to do when I was a little girl was to dance on my Daddy's shoes. He made me feel like the most special little girl in the whole world.

Being able to make your child feel like that.. THAT is what a real father is.

That's wonderful that you have that relationship with your Dad; every girl needs a Daddy. Great photos, too.

Bon Anniversaire to Anndi's dad!
