Heroes fall...
For the fallen firefighters in Charleston SC ... May their souls be free, May their families find peace, May their brothers in arms find solace and the courage to go on, May their community recognize what heroes they have lost and honour them. A FIREFIGHTER'S PRAYER -Unknown When I am called to duty, God Whenever flames may rage, Give me the strength to save some life Whatever be its age, Help me embrace a little child Before it is too late Or save an older person from The horror of that fate Enable me to be alert and Hear the weakest shout And quickly and efficiently To put the fire out I want to fill my calling and To give the best in me, To guard my every neighbor and Protect his property And if according to my fate I am to lose my life, Please bless with your protecting hand My children and my wife. In memoriam Capt. William "Billy" Hutchinson, 48 (30 years) Capt. Mike Benke, 49 (29 years) Capt. Louis Mulkey, 34 (11½ years) Engineer Mark Kelsey, 40 (12½ years) Engineer Bradford "Brad" Baity, 37 (9 years) Assistant engineer Michael French, 27 (1½ years) Firefighter James "Earl" Drayton, 56 (32 years) Firefighter Brandon Thompson, 27 (4 years) Firefighter Melven Champaign, 46 (2 years) Labels: fallen, firefighters, heros |

Well done Ann honey. Thank you.
Beautiful
Angell,
Thanks sweetpea. Having donned turnouts myself, it's a tough job that they have.
SMOOCH
Bondbaby,
Least I can do for the fallen. Thank you.
Hugs
how did I miss hearing about this exactly?
Sparkster,
Um... You didn't watch the news this morning...
I never watch the morning news, but ever since I got caught sleeping in on September 11, 2001, I now check CNN.com first thing in the morning.
When I saw this headline, my heart sunk, and my stomach got queasy.
Oh my.
Such an incredibly sad story. My son's godfather is a retired firefighter. Nice job Anndi.
Songbird,
Part of my job involves emergency measures and I work closely with first responders of all types. I have the utmost appreciation for firefighters. Every time we lose one, we lose a member of the family.
Matt-man,
First thing I saw this morning was a body being carried out and my heart broke.
Glad he made it through his career with his life, he'll have good things to teach your son.
This was beautiful. And, thank you for your kind words.
Chelle,
You're very welcome. The blogosphere is a wonderful place!Hope you're feeling a little better. Thank you for visiting.
What a lovely tribute. God bless.
My sentiments, exactly.
Well done, my Twinny! You always have the right words to say
God bless those heroic men and the families/friends that grieve for them.
Mimi,
Least I can do for my fallen brothers.
Gail,
It broke my heart this morning. Not sure if I always have those words, but I guess they fit because they came from the heart.
Meri,
Amen!
sweetie, you are too wonderful for words, what a perfect tribute to those very brave men.
much love
I read about this today. When everyone else is running away, they move willingly toward the danger.
Mary,
True heroes.. Give Dan the man a big old bear hug for me...
Love ya
Travis,
It's a calling. Hugs
Perfect post Sweet Ann. Thank you.
Thank you, Anndi.
B and I sat upt with our good neighbours last night ... he's a firefighter. They all feel the loss of their brothers-in-arms, no matter how far away. God bless them and their families.
Beautifully done my sweet sis, as usual.
May these brave men rest in peace. May peace be with each family.
